Drama Department
Staffing
The Drama Department is part of the Performing Arts faculty consisting of 7 staff delivering across the full age range 11-19.

Drama
Students are encouraged to develop empathy through themed collaborative work which requires them to look at a variety of different lifestyles, circumstances & situations. There is a strong mutual respect between students across the department based on a shared desire for success within the Performing Arts and beyond. Students are supported in decision making and respectful of all viewpoints. Students learn the value of self worth and individuality. Personality’s are enhanced and enriched during their time at school showcasing independence and freedom. Again, throughout all key stages students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their own actions, by learning what is right and wrong through effective communication, cooperation and sensitivity. Regular showcases and trips out broaden their creative knowledge and understanding by allowing students to see first hand the hard work, dedication and pride that goes into a successful production.
Resources
We are able to utilise the full benefits of a multi million pound building that we first occupied in 2011. There are 2 specialist drama studios to showcase exam work, extra curricular work and to celebrate the achievements of all students.

All students are taught Drama in mixed ability sets across the key stages. At GCSE the students are entered for the following qualifications:
